Today’s Minutia:

Colossians 1:20 KJV And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

There are just two short weeks remaining until Christmas is celebrated. The commercialization of Christmas has taken away from the purpose of Christmas. We need to first and foremost always remember to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. The actual date of Christ’s birth may be in question but the fact that His birth occurred points us to God’s great gift for eternal salvation. Making Jesus Lord of your life is an acknowledgement that you want to receive all that God has to off you as His creation. There is no selling price for God’s gift but there was a cost. The cost was Jesus shed blood on Calvary’s cross. Jesus freely sacrificed His life so that each of us may have eternal life through the shedding of His blood.

Each gift you receive this Christmas will be given in love. Receive each gift in a attitude of love for the gift and the giver. In Jesus name pray for peace on earth and that God would grant us a peace that passes all understanding.

Today’s Minutia:

1 Peter 3:8-9 KJV Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

It’s just a crazy mixed up and confused world we live in. God has graciously placed all of us here on earth to care for each other. When people have a need we should forget about self and try as best we can to help the other feller, as a dear friend of mine once said. I know full well that there are people who try and take advantage of others. That’s why God gave us the ability to gather as many facts as we can before making decisions for assistance. There is an old expression, “You can’t judge a book by its cover.” I would like to think that we all would be sure and read the pages between the front and back cover of the book.

As Christmas approaches consider how you can be a blessing to others. The blessing that others receive may actually provide a blessing to you in ways you never would have imagine.

Today’s Minutia:

Psalms 27:5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

When you need comfort during your times of trouble and concern, you must turn to the Lord. Seek His presence as you try and find ways to remove your burden. The pain or discomfort will not immediately go away but the strength to endure the times ahead will carry you through the process. Surely the presence of the Lord in will be with you. You will be able to feel the shelter of His grace. God’s continuing presence is something you can always depend on regardless of your circumstances.

There are many examples found in the scriptures of God providing the needed resources to overcome their situation. From Abraham to the apostle John in the book of Revelation you can find God working in the lives of His children. You can find solace in knowing that the same God who was with them will be with you also. When the situations in your life seem to be unbearable, cry out to the Lord. The Psalmist also had this assurance to live by: Psalms 34:15The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

Thank you Father for always being there for me and others during our times of need. Your comforting presence has made the troubling time more bearable. Our confidence is in your presence regardless of our dilemma. Help me to share with others the faith that I have in your provision. I know it can help others as it has helped me. Amen!

Today’s Minutia:

How important is each day to you? God created today for you to enjoy and to make the best use of it. The way you choose to use it will honor God and reflect upon your relationship with Him. Your decisions will impact the lives of others. You will meet all types of individual with different mind sets. Some will live each day for themselves. Some will be very dependent upon others. Some will fortunately be living as God desires and showing others the Christlike character traits that we find through our study of God’s Word. Regardless of who you meet always present to them a pattern of living that portrayed a confidence in God’s ability to be with you through all your trials and tribulation. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Let the Lord know that you are thankful for the guidance and direction that He provides through the Holy Spirit. I like what Paul had to suggest to Timothy in 1 Timothy 6:17 “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;” These are truly words to live by. When we trust in the living God we are showing others that God is very real and will be there to help us throughout all of life.

Is your life rich in favor from the Lord? Do you feel His presence all the time? Are you confident in your relationship with God? I so hope you can be positive in your response to these questions. If you are not positive then isn’t it time that you take the proper steps to improve your relationship by simply trusting God with every aspect of your life?

Today’s Minutia:

Proverbs 12:19 “The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

Who would you prefer to be around, someone who you can trust or someone who is not honest and sincere with you? I believe I know that answer to that. However, it is interesting that the one who is not honest and sincere seems to always get the attention. I would only guess that it is because they are newsworthy and the honest person is so dependable that few ever toot their horn for them. I find it also interesting that many people have the tendency to believe a lie before they will believe or accept the truth.

The wise man who wrote the Book of Proverbs delivered the contrast for truth in the verse above. The person who delivers the truth about life is someone who can be trustworthy. The person who doesn’t tell the truth even though their integrity depend on it, lacks credibility for anything they say. Who do you want to be your friend? Someone who reveals the truth to you or someone who satisfies your ego even though they know they aren’t telling the truth. I know who I would rather be around. How about you?

Think about this. Jesus always told the truth didn’t he. Many people have problem accepting the truth about who Jesus is. It was proven during the days that Jesus lived on this earth and it is still proven by the way people respond the Him today. Jesus indicated to his disciples what the truth would do for them. These were disciples were Jewish believers who were seek truth in their lives. John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Are you experiencing real freedom as a result of the relationship you are having with God and His Son, Jesus Christ? The truth has been conveyed over the centuries by people who were inspired to communicate what God has planned for those that love Him. The message hasn’t changed. The end results are still in place. To know and believe the truth the Bible brings to you will give you truth that you can live with and depend on.
